Bryan Blue is a guitar slinger from Santiago, Chile, South America. R.L. and Bryan met through Carlos Elliot. At Bryan's insistence, and persistance, I took R.L. over to Sun Studio / Memphis Recording Service on Union Avenue to join Bryan for a few songs during his recording session on May 27, 2023.

Bryan had assembled Watermelon Slim (harmonica), Be (drums), and Heath (bass) from Clarksdale, Mississippi. R.L. brought along Willie "William the Shaker" Miles (tambourine) from Pope, Mississippi, to add to the mix. Sun Studio's Daniel Crockett engineered.

This would end up being R.L.'s last studio session.

R.L. had a slightly unconventional tuning and wrote down the chart on a slip of paper that he kept in his wallet. Here Be and Bryan are trying to make sense of it. - Sun Studio (5/27/2023)

We also had a video crew filming the entire session.

That footage and a few of my still shots were used for the video of "Shake Your Body Down," recorded during that session. The video is dedicated to the memory of R.L. Boyce and includes a touching tribute to him at the end.
