"Clarksdale's in the South,

and lays heavy on my mind.

I can have a good time there

if i ain't got but one lousy dime."

(Son House - Clarksdale Moan)

Music was the reason for our first trip to Clarksdale. It is still the reason we go to Clarksdale. But along the way, I discovered that Clarksdale satisfies more than my need for live blues. There is always something interesting to photograph on every street, down every alley, and around every corner. Here's a collection of photographs taken in and around Clarksdale over the years.

The photos in this collection were were taken in downtown Clarksdale and around The Shack Up Inn just off Highway 49.

The rooster was walking in the road behind Delta Amusement Cafe.

The two-legged bar stool and empty pint bottle outside Delta Blues Alley Cafe is the scene in a song waiting to be written!

Thanks for stopping by.
